Additional Info

  • Admin Review: Oct 2014: Somerset pellets have always been on top of my list. I miss the days I could find these at the Lowes in Woburn for less than $200 / ton. Those days are over however the quality of these pellets live on. Great pellet and a very safe bet for this season. August - 2017 - Looking forward to burning some this year!! I always thought these were great pellets

I have an Englander stove p25 and burn Somerset pellets. I have tried all the types of pellets in the Sountern Ohio are. Somerset is by far the very hottest and the best! I even use some corn mixed in on really cold periods. Clean your stoves people! You're saving money and so the labor once a week is well worth it. This is not a gas or electric heated furnace. I heat 2600 sqft house with a 1500 sqft stove. 2 bags a day some days 3 bags. Clean your stove people! Do your research and save money!

I have a USSC 6039 the somerset burn better than most they are very dens so more air in the pot is better and as far as fines they have very little. I will try to buy some in bulk if the will sell to me 10 + tons. They are a very hot burner so that is a plus and ash is very low

Love my Somerset pellets, best pellets I have ever burned, Low ash, low fines with high heat output, actually believe they made them better this year for 2011. In 2010 and 2009 had the low fuel trim set on the high side burning at a rate of 1.5 lbs per hour and this year have it set on the lowest rate which is .9 lbs per hour. Also had to increase the fresh air intake. If their not burning correctly, try adjusting your feed rate lower and give it more air. See if that works, took me about five bags to figure it out.

Two years ago, I found these pellets at Lowes ... bought 3 tons... and bought about 5 bags at a time when I happended to be at Lowes.

Last year .... couldn't find them. Somerset delivered to Lowes in NY but not here (Dedham, MA). I couldnt' find anyone that would deliver.

This year.. I'm looking for these pellets again .. I like them because because there aren't as much fines when you pour these pellets into the bin. The fines fly all over the place ... and a lot of wiping during the spring.
