Greene Team (Green Team) wood pellet fuel pellets

Greene Team Pellet Fuel Company, LLC was founded with the goal of producing clean, renewable energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The location of the production facility is in Greene County, Pennsylvania at the site of the old Robena Mine. The Robena Mine was built in the years of WWII, and was the largest, most modern coal mine of its time. In the wave of the renewable energy era, Greene Team has converted Robena from fossil fuel mining to renewable bio fuel production

Pellet quality is our number one goal at Greene Team. We receive fresh sawdust daily from local sawmills and process it into wood pellet fuel quickly. The sawdust never has had a chance to degrade prior to pelletization. This ensures the highest BTU value possible. Our state of the art facility allows us to produce the highest quality pellet fuel consistently. We have an in house lab and test finished product every ½ hour to maintain quality control. All pellets are screened 3 times prior to bagging to eliminate fines in the bag.

  • Bulk Density (lbs/cubic foot): 40 - 46
  • Diameter (inches): 0.250 to 0.285
  • Fines % (at the mill gate): < 0.5
  • Inorganic Ash %: 0 - 1
  • Length (% greater than 1.5 inches): < 1
  • Moisture %: <= 8
  • BTUs: > 8000

Additional Info

  • Admin Review: August - 2017 - Looking forward to burning some this year!! I always thought these were great pellets.
    Sept - 2017 - Well I have had a few cold nights with these and as usual they are a great pellets. Robbie down there in PA keeps me updated on the shipments headed to Lowes and such for purchase. He mailed me out a bag this year and I loved burning them! A great hardwood pellet! I like how dense they are and the sound they make when hitting the hopper. Thanks Robbie! Also, these were the first pellets I ever bought for my first stove back 8 years or so now! Great then and great now.

    We bought some Green Team pellets from Lowes the other day. So far I'm very impressed with them. We have our pellet stove on it's lowest setting it will go to. And my house is currently at 78 degrees inside. And the temp outside is 28 degrees.

    I'm going back this weekend to pick up a pallets worth.

    I agree, green team has a great product. Was using gamers, lightened, and was " forced" to get a ton of greene's due to lows not having anything else. WOW, was I surprised, hot burn, low ash, and all for $187.00 a ton. Would highly recommend.

    I can't find Green Team anywhere in RI now. Lowes is selling Inferno which is junk. Anyone know where I can still get Green Team for a decent price?

    I have burned wood pellets in a Quadra Fire insert now for three going on four years. Greene Team pellets are made in the USA (Pa.) and they are by far the best quality on the market today for US made product that I have used. Cubix out of Canada is a close second. All the other Canadian product is junk. Lowes home centers sells this product. Becareful in the off season Lowe's jacks the price up. This summer they wanted 298.00 a ton (good luck) now they are at 189.00 per ton for the same product(I guess they needs to sell some product). I have tried a bunch of different brands and having a glass front I like to see the fire and this product burns pretty clean with low ash.

    J have had a wood pellet insert stove for 4 years, Quadra Fire Mount Vernon. I have tried many brands and the best I found was Bare Foot. Bare Foot ran into a problem with getting material to make their pellets. I was stuck with finding another good pellet company. I did a lot of research and crunching of numbers. Greene Team is the best buy for heat and long lasting. I paid $168 a ton compared to $280 a ton for Bare Foot and am getting a better product. I have highly recommend them to family because they burn clean, very little ash, over 8000 BTU'S per lb.,no clinkers and over $100 cheaper than Bare Foot here in RI. Good luck and give them a try.
