Hi, we heat our store (we deal woodstoves and accessories). With two lopi yankees, I would suggest making sure that both side panels are screwed in. It makes it a pain to open the door for cleaning, but has virtually eliminated our rattles. Also, make sure to follow the yearly maintenance religiously. If the exhaust fan has too much soot on it, it will vibrate more. As far as the stove goes, we are less than happy with the two we have. They have a huge heat output but MUST be cleaned every day with continuous use, and they are extremely finicky as far as the air intake adjustment goes. Though I dont have experience with other brands, I am told that they are a little less labor intensive and user friendly.
We purchased a Lopi Yankee unit just like the unit in the video, four years ago. I clean and maintain it religiously. The basic operation of the unit is great, but the problem we've had from the very beginning is loud sheet metal buzzing and rattling noise while it's heating up. The problem has gotten continuously worse almost to the point where we don't enjoy using it anymore. The stove has to run for an hour to get really hot before the noise finally stops, or is just occasional. The dealer that sold it to us is out of business. I'm afraid any other dealer will just try to sell me a new stove. In any case, I wonder if an experienced technician would know of a fix? Pulling on the lid will temporarily stop the noise, but it comes right back and it's a pain to have to stand there PULLING ON THIS EXPENSIVE appliance. This is our main problem. It has a couple of other peculiarities too. Ideas?? Thank you!
