Rob,

Thank you so much for your kind words about Somerset Pellet Fuel. We do get many positive comments and in the future we would love to forward them to you for posting. I think it's great that you take the initiative to build a site so that consumers will be informed. Since we put so much effort into making a high quality pellet, we especially like for consumers to be informed and educated. Like you, once they try our pellets and learn of their performance, we have a loyal Somerset customer.

The excess wood fiber, sawdust collected throughout the flooring manufacturing process supplies our Wood Pellet Fuel division, where we produce premium grade clean-burning wood fuel pellets. Here, more than 50,000 tons of wood fiber and sawdust generated each year, instead of going to a landfill, goes to making an economical and environmentally-friendly alternative energy source. This, in turn, helps decrease our country's dependence on fossil fuels. Somerset brand pellets are sold across the U.S. through major pellet distributors and retailers for use in pellet stoves.

We work hard do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do. This applies not only to how we treat our environment, but to everything we do at Somerset.

Additional Info

  • Admin Review: Top Notch Pellet. Probably one of the Best I have burned in a long time. The Somerset Pellets are one of my top 3 this year and most other pellets are hard pressed to even touch the Somersets in Quality. Barefoot is right up there with them. The LG's made the list because of the near nuclear heat they put out, however, lots of flyash. Somerset had practically 0% flyash and great heat output. (I'm not kidding about the flyash, I figure that I could probably have gone through 10 bags before even thinking about brushing the 2 cups of flyash the Lopi Leyden produces.)

I used Somerset pellets last year and loved them. I bought them at lowes and they tell me that they may not have them this year. Do you have anyone in or near NE PA that carries your pellets?
    Thanks, Bob Kimble

I have always loved the Somerset pellets. Opening a bag is even a pleasure because of the wonderful clean Maple or Oak smell. Like fresh cut boards. These pellets leave virtually no ash and put out a great heat. The pellets are extreamly dense and burn for a nice period of time. Just lay down a bag of Somerset wood pellets on the floor and lay down any other bag of pellets and you will notice the huge difference. Other pellets just have too much moisture (moisture increases profit margin for mills) and too much bark. Do yourself a favor and try out Somerset wood pellets. I give them a 5 star review! Keep up the good work and product.

I used over a ton of Freedom Fuel Pellets this winter when I ran out. Bought 10 bags of Somerset Pellets. The Somerset pellets burn much hotter and leave less ash, and less smoke residue. They are the best!!!!!
