I've burned Badgerland for 1 season and we have tried many local brands and a couple national ones as well, Badgerland wins hands down for the amount of ash left in the firebox and the heat level during the burn. The firebox cleanup is also much easier as the Badgerland ash seems much finer and not as stuck on as other brands and my god my glass stays sooo much cleaner with Badgerland! I can actualy enjoy the fire as well as the heat.
I know they are a blend but I'm not sure on the percentages of hard and soft as alot of the sawdust that goes into Badgerland comes from pallet shops.
If you like Badgerland pellets get them while you can. There was a massive fire at there facility about a month ago and the future availability is uncertain at least for the upcoming heating season.
Badgerland pellets are very good pellets . I bought 10 bags and burned them and they seem to burn very hot and clean they are 75% hardwood -25% softwood very good product, made in WI.
