  • Admin Review: I have always had great luck with Bayou wood pellets. Bayou is a cabinet and millwork company that recycles their waist into an outstanding high quality, dry, hot, all hardwood wood pellet. Keep up the good work and great product. They are burning great for me. 3 bags have gone through over the past 3 days and there may be only 1 cup of fly ash and the glass is hardly dirty. Bayou's are great this year especially after I vacuum the fines out!! superb!!

I have been involved with Wood Pellet fuel for over 10 years, we are a Dist of Bayou Wood Pellets in New England, our customer base is over 1200. Could have you speak to about 1195 of them that order year after year! What they will tell you they will not purchase any other pellet as they have found a pellet that is long burning and low ash yield. This means less stove cleanings then ever before. As far as those with dust issues this is a quality control issue all plants deal with daily, correcting it is making sure the belts carrying the pellet into the shipping bags are not clogged so the fines get dropped to the ground. We have very few issues with Bayou Wood Pellet Fuel which is a 100% hardwood pellet, however we have 3-4 customers with Harmon stoves now burning a softwood product with better results. Pellets mis handled and stored where moisture can touch any bag will result in product loss, regardless of the grade. Remember air holes are needed to vent the gases after production and packaging. Clean stoves and proper air flo means a lot for wood pellet stoves to maintain ample heat from any wood pellet. And the best tip we can give you never empty and shake the bag of pellets you are putting into your hopper....throw the fines at the bottom of the bag away! Lastly the cost of pellet fuel to heat your home compared to Gas Electric, or Oil puts many of your hard earned dollars back into your savings account!

I have been using Bayou Wood Pellets for 2 years. I think they are a very dependable product. I find that they produce great heat and are easy to use and store. My stoves require just minimum cleaning ( once a week ) and very low ash build-up.( Didn't have to dump my ash pan all year ) I really like the fact that the pellets are real oak hardwood. In the 2 years of using these pellets, I have not had any problems with clogging. There is a small amount of dust (it's a wood product) but nothing serious. I would recommend these pellets to anyone who uses a pellet stove.

I've been using these for 2 years and have had no problems in my Quadra-Fires.
I've had no jambs and they heat great.

folks that do not sift out fines prior to loading in the hopper deserve a clogged auger

Bayou pellets are very dusty, they seem to burn good and hot but are extremely dusty.

my first ton was good, low ash, burned nice, smell good, but not to consistant on size and a bit dusty. next ton I bought 1st week feb.2010.I guess they sat out side for a while and seem to have gotten some moisture and made them a bit crumbley. they were on the very small side.
