Clean Burn brand of wood pellets contain none of the bark, dirt or insects associated with burning wood. The low moisture content of the Clean Burn wood pellets results in nearly total combustion when used in an approved wood pellet stove, reducing emissions and creosote buildup almost entirely. Wood pellets cost less per energy unit than almost all fuels. Clean Burn pellets are made from 100% wood sawdust and shavings which are dried, screened, ground and compressed in Tacoma, Washington. The pellets produce a consistently high BTU, low ash fuel. No additives or binders are used in the process.

    Superior Pellet in the Lopi Leyden.  Pictures below is all the proof you need. I have only seen ash levels this low one other time and it was from another West Coast Pellet Mill from Oregon.

    I was surprised when a package showed up at my door addressed from Manke Lumber of Tacoma, WA.  Who knew that inside this box was the West Coast USA Holy Grail of Wood Pellets.  Packaged was 1 bag of Premium* Wood Pellets (Super Premium ++ compared to anything out here on the East Coast marked "Premium", Oh,,please don't jest Manke), 1 Clean Burn brochure, and 1 Manke Lumber business card with the name Todd Wright.

    I quickly picked up the phone and called this soothsayer of sawdust to thank him for his kind donation.

    Upon opening the bag to inspect the pellets I noticed that they are almost indistinguishable from Cubex Wood Pellets, my favorite hardwood pellet in appearance, texture, density and sound (yes sound, massive sound difference between pellets of various density).  Below is a side by side of the 2 brands of wood pellets.

    Pro's:

    1. Heavy Duty Bag

    2. Ash - very little

    3. Heat - Manke Lumber has >8200 BTU/LB. The bag I received was >9000 easy.

    4. Smell - They even smelled nice for a West Coast Pellet which is usually stronger in smell like your Okanagans or Blazers.

    Con's:

    1. ? - I'm not sure,, the bags are heavy? I could not find one.  Even the fines were low even after being shipped from the furthest point in the lower 48 to my house by UPS.

    Well all you West Coast and Central USA Pellet Mills.  The Gauntlet has been thrown!  I am now going to be putting up 3 different categories for Best of the Best 2011-12 which are;

    Best of the Best Wood Pellets -  Winter 2011 -2012

    East Coast
    West Coast
    Central
