  • Admin Review:

2010 Winter - I had great luck with these pellets. They burned really hot and the ash level was much less that I would have expected from a new company using recycled pallets and waiste wood. Great job and I'll be looking for a ton or so this upcoming winter.

2011 Winter - Sept. I just filled them in the hopper and they are burning on this chilly, wet and raw day.  One thing that stood out is that the bag of pellets REALLY filled up the hopper.  The density feels great so I think there is probably a good 44 or so lbs in the bag.  Thanks for the added pellets!

I have had a Harman Pellet pro pellet stove for over 20 years, this year my supplier ordered Inferno pellets for me, the first time I have used them. My auger jammed up once in twenty years, since I heve been using Inferno my auger has jammed up three or four times a day, the ash content is high, I usually have to pull my exhaust fan once or twice a season to clean it of ash, I am now pulling and cleaning it every week or two plus I am getting creosote dripping from my stove even when I am running it much hotter than usual to try and prevent the creosote.
I overhaul and clean my stove every spring and always keep it in excellent condition. since I have been using Inferno pellets I have had nothing but trouble, I'll never buy them again. At present I am mixing them with other pellets to try and help me through this heating season with less problems....stay clear of Inferno pellets.

I have a harman pb 105 boiler I clean it once a week and i have burned around 25 tons of pellets since 2009 when I purchased it. I have bought from direct pellets and home depot and a little local store and all of those pellets seemed to burn just fine some had little more ash than others but no big deal, but this year I bought 14 tons of inferno pellets and Im having nothing but problems with them my boiler is going out constantly and as a result of that I have prematurely burned out a brand new igniter not to mention sleepless nights worrying when the boiler will go out.And another thing they do not show anywhere what the btus are so I called them to ask and they told me that they are at around 8700btus that is not true because when my boiler is finally running it is not near as hot as other pellets that I have used in the past that claim theirs are around 8500btus. I usually run my feed rate around 3.5 to 4 but with inferno pellets Im running at 5 to 5.5 and still not enough heat.So I hope who ever is reading this beware spend a little more and buy anything but inferno pellets.

We purchased a Harman model P68 2009. Our son purchased a Harman [25 years Anniversary] model in 2006.

This year we both purchased your pellets "Inferno Wood Pellets" from Tractor Supply in Coventry, RI.

Both stoves have an automatic start which we love. And we have never had before a problem of our stoves going out. They are regulary cleaned as per our ownership manuels.

We have fired up our stoves for this season and as of just the last few weeks we have experienced the same problem.

    The Stove goes completly out.

After an investigation we've notice that some of the pellets get jammed when falling down the harper. This is due to fact many of the pellets are extremely long, as much in as much two inches.

My son has 10 tons and I have 5 tons. We do hope that this problem can be resolved. Otherwise it will be a long cold winter if we can't trust proper burning of our stoves.

I also need to mention that a friend of mine [don't know make and model of his stove] has experienced the same problem. He chose to return his 5 tons to the distributor he purchased them from , also in Coventry, RI.

On the plus side they burn efficiently and we are warm. We hope we can continue to burn your pellets.

I used these pellets for the 1st time this winter. They actually clogged the auger. This resulted in a back up to the feeder which caused a fire. It was a good think I was home when my smoke detectors went off. The fire actually went up into the hatch.

I was quite disappointed with Inferno this passed winter. They have "premium hard wood" pellets with low ash - but I've never cleaned the inside of my stove more often that I have with these pellets. My stove's manufacturer says I should expect to clean & empty my stove not more than once per ton (once per month). Yet, it's been filling up with ash and needing to be emptied every 3-4 weeks! And, the manufacturer says the ideal standard for premium hardwood pellets is not thicker than (+/-) 1/4 inch and not longer than 3/4 to 1 inch. However, Inferno pellets are 50% thicker at 3/8" and as long as 2 inches!! My stove has been shutting down constantly all winter long because these pellets are too damned long and are jamming in both the feeder and the auger. Many sleepless nights this winter getting up to restart the stove by sticking my hand down inside the hopper to free the stuck, oversized pellets! I would hope Inferno reviews these comments and improves their product. I would much rather prefer to patronize a local company, but not if the product isn't improved upon.

I second the motion. I purchased the first ton from Lowes outside of Boston before Christmas and they were very good. High heat and low ash... at $3.85/ bag. Seemed like a bargain so in late January i picked up the next ton. OMG, totally different story. Ash x10, ok heats but clinkers every 24 hours. NOT GOOD, i will not get these again.

Just plain old JUNK - would not pay 2 bucks a bag. they give off NO HEAT and clog your Auger. Lots of saw dust in them. clogged my auger four times. I will never buy them again. The best ones I have tried is pennington wood pellets and fireside ultra. the fireside ultra are from Canada and work the best. I also bought from HD stove chow - they suck too !!

The first two purchases from 2 local Lowes stores burned really well with a soft fluffy ash. I recently purchased 9 bags from a 3rd Lowes location and they seemed to burn faster and had clinkers in the ash. The pellets seemed more plumpy and aerated -- it may have to do with the way they were stored bny that particular Lowes. With this same purchase I tried 6 bags of SIH hardwood pellets which were very dense and solid. The SIH's are burning longer, hotter and with powdery ash -- I will be going back for more SIH's. Both brands wer $4.18/bag

If you want to save yourself a lot of aggravation DON'T BY INFERNO WOOD PELLETS. We have purchased this in recent months and they burnt great but this truck load that was just recently received at Lowe's won't burn fully just returned them!!! I will be calling the company that manufactures them as they seem to have a problem with production.

I have been burning randon pellets from the big box stores (Orange and Blue) this year. I usually order a couple of tons to start the year (my 3rd season), but didn't. I ran across the Inferno pellets at Lowes and found these to be as good or better than the "super premium" I paid a premium price for last year. The Lowes price is great and these are the best pellets I have burned and I have burned a dozen or more brands.

I just used inferno pellets purchased on Jan 9, 2011 and I noticed a big improvement on the quality from last years purchase, which were very dusty with lots of tins. this batch was very clean and burned without tins.

Inferno has come along way and their new product is 100% better. They continue to stand behind their pellets. If you do have any issues call them, and I assure you that it will be taken care of. Thank you.
